Hi, I'm Xiaoman An
— a visual storyteller with a passion for capturing real people, complex stories, and the subtleties that live between frames.

With nine years of experience in journalism and multimedia, I specialize in telling human-centered stories through documentary film, photography, and reporting. I’m currently completing my journalism degree at the University of Missouri, where I also work as a photojournalist for the Columbia Missourian, covering the vibrant local communities of Mid-Missouri through my lens.

Before coming to the U.S., I reported for top tech and business media in China, producing over 300 stories for outlets such as Tencent, Alibaba, and Baidu. My career bridges in-depth reporting with visual storytelling — a blend that helps turn complexity into emotionally resonant narratives.

Whether I’m filming a micro-doc on healing, photographing volunteers at sunrise, or interviewing executives about electric vehicles, my approach is grounded in curiosity, honesty, and the belief that stories — when seen and told well — can spark change.
